Another technology we want to present to our small scale farmers is the way to produce biochar as a natural fertilizer and reactivator for the soil.
As part of our 5 workshops from 29.11.-4.12.2024 we presented the biochar technology by power point videos, images and small presentation with a biochar kiln from the University of Cape Coast.
Some farmers are checking the special biochar kiln before assembly.
Maik Springmann is explaining the important details of the pyrolysis process and how the kiln shall be able to function.
We planted together with our workshop participants a small tomatoe seedling and prepared the planting hole with a small portion of biochar before planting.
Please note the small bowl with biochar at the ground!
Maik is explaining the important difference between burning process and pyrolysis!!
