As part of the DIVAGRI project, we want to present a special, simple way of biogas production from organic residues.<\/p>\n

Therefore, we decided to install an eco friendly, easy to handle system instead of a cement-based biogas digester. <\/p>\n

We found the innovative Israeli company homebiogas.com from the Webber Group, which has sales in Ghana.

For our farm size we decided to install the 6.0 system. The installation within a two days workshop of Webber group\/homebiogas for our farmers is planned for autumn 2024. It will take place as part of the planning process for our sustainable, ecological farmer prototype house.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within our 5 days workshop program to demonstrate all the DIVAGRI technologies at our farm we were very glad to welcome the site manager Mr. Bright Anthony Osei-Buapim for two days (29. and 30. of November 2024) to install the HOMEBIOGAS system together with our farmers.<\/div>\n

We introduced the biogas production principle to our farmers by using power point presentations about how a cow stomach functions and about the meaning of bacteria for the whole process.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We prepared a simple kids experiment for the group some days before: we filled kitchen waste and a bit garden earth into empty plastic bottles and closed them with balloons. After some days in the warm clima in a shady place the balloons filled with gas!!<\/p>\n

Mr. Osei-Buapim presented the sucess of his company, the different systm sizes and the opportunity to become a trainer for these biogas systems.<\/p>\n

These are the construction steps in detail:<\/p>\n

1. Bring fresh cow dung<\/p>\n

2. mix it with water to become a slurry (without stones and bigger particles)<\/p>\n

3. level the ground<\/p>\n

4. enroll the biogas digester<\/p>\n

5. assemble all parts of the system according to the manual<\/p>\n

6. connect as well the gas stove with the special yellow pipe with the biogas bag<\/p>\n

7. fill the cow dung slurry with more water inside the system<\/p>\n

8. put the prepared sand bags into the upper part of the biogas system<\/p>\n

9. place a bucket or watering can under the fertilizer outlet<\/p>\n

10. wait for around 21 days<\/p>\n
